Special Dates & Coming Events
- Tuesday, August 3, 8am-12noon & 1:30pm-6pm - Back-To-School Mall:
Walnut Grove Back-To-School Mall will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 8am-12 noon & 1pm- 6pm (12-1 closed for lunch break). WG distributes school supplies to children in our community in a shopping experience. Thanks to generous public donations and a grant from Knox County Community Foundation we will be suppling the requests from teachers from South Knox and other area school corporations.
Each child will given, free of charge: all supplies needed for their grade level, a fun gift, as well as a light lunch for the students and their families.
The children will register upon entry to the Mall, they will be given a copy of the required supplies for their own school and teacher. Parents will wait in our quiet sanctuary while their children "shop" with assistance from Walnut Grove family members.
At the Mall the child will have the opportunity to choose a new book bag, paper, binders, pencils and pens, crayons, paints, tissue, everything the student needs from the list provided by their classroom teacher. After choosing the school supplies, the child may choose a "fun" item from the Mall's wide variety of items. Our "fun" room contains pillows, blankets, wallets, hair styling supplies, and a few small toys or jewelry.
Our Walnut Grove Back-To-School Mall is proud to be funded, in part, by the Knox County Community Foundation. Donations are always welcome and used year-round to buy supplies as they are found at reduced prices. Your donation may be be mailed to: WG Mall, PO Box 215, Monroe City, IN 47557

Greetings from your friends at Walnut Grove
Walnut Grove UM Church is that friendly, family-oriented country church everyone is seeking. Nestled in a beautiful little valley along-side Pond Creek, southeast of Monroe City, we truly do care for one another. We laugh together and cry together and offer support when needed.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to God and without Him we would be lost. Only through the Grace of our Lord and saving blood of Jesus is our way to Heaven. Jesus is our intercessor with the Father. We believe Jesus was born of the virgin, died on the cruel cross and was raised from the grave and lives today with our Father in Heaven. We want to share the Good News with you and your family! Come and join us this Sunday!
Our Sunday school starts at 9:00am followed by Sunday Worship at 10:00am. We offer Sunday school classes for all age groups, toddler-adult. We have a more traditional adult Class with lesson books. We also have an adult Bible Study class where we study and reflect on the Bible’s teachings.
We are very active in our church family, as well as in our community! Join us for any of our gatherings, monthly pitch-in meals, musical presentations or any of the various activities down here in the country!
